Mykolas Alekna is a world record-holding discus thrower, recognized for his rapid ascent in athletics with multiple international titles and collegiate accolades. After shattering the longest-standing men’s world record in discus throw, Mykolas Alekna established himself as a dominant force in athletics. He achieved a monumental throw of 74.35 meters at the 2024 Oklahoma Throws Series World Invitational, surpassing a record that had stood since 1986. This historic feat built upon his early career success, including becoming both the World and European U20 champion in discus in 2021.

Alekna further solidified his status by breaking his own world record in 2025, becoming the first man in history to throw over 75 meters with an astonishing mark of 75.56 meters.
