Natalie Lowe is an Australian born professional dancer who has become a very popular figure on the BBC 1 show, Strictly Come Dancing. With lots of ballroom dancing expertise, Natalie is a four-time Australian Dance Champion, and she then went on to join Seven Network’s Dancing with the Stars, partnering athlete Matt Shirvington. She then partnered Ian Roberts, and won a later series with AFL footballer Anthony Koutoufides and then partnered with Home and Away actor Tim Campbell and boxer Danny Green before competing as a new professional dancer on the seventh series of the original British version of Strictly Come Dancing, partnering with Hollyoaks’ Ricky Whittle.
Lowe and her partner Whittle were described at the time on the show by head judge Len Goodman as “maybe the most formidable couple Strictly Come Dancing had ever seen.” Despite this great feedback, Lowe and Whittle finished second, but alas, Natalie returned again and competed once more, this time partnering Scott Maslen. Her professional partner in this series was New Zealand professional Brendan Cole but she and Maslen were eliminated in the semi-final of the competition along with Gavin Henson and Katya Virshilas. At this point a real regular on the show, in a later series she was partnered by champion boxer Audley Harrison. In the tenth series her partner was former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan. They placed 7th and following that Lowe missed a series owing to a foot injury, but was back with a bang a couple of years later. Having over 10 years media and TV experience, Natalie appears weekly on BBC’s It takes two as a backstage reporter, guest appearing on Sport and Comic Relief, Children in Need, BBC Breakfast, and BBC’s People Strictly. As such she is a dance guru who can talk at length about her passion, as well as exciting audiences merely with her star presence.
