Nathan Jones

Nathan Jones, born August 21, 1970, in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, began his journey in the world of competitive strength athletics. Standing at 6′ 11″, Jones earned the moniker “Megaman” during his strongman career in the mid-1990s. His early life included a challenging period, serving seven years in Boggo Road Gaol after being sentenced at 17 for armed robberies. During his incarceration, he discovered powerlifting, becoming the National Powerlifting Champion of Australia shortly after his release in 1994. In 1995, he won the World Strength Championship at Callander, Scotland, and in 1996, he secured first place in the World Strongman Challenge. His strongman career also included appearances at the World’s Strongest Man contests in both 1995 and 1996. Transitioning to professional wrestling, Jones worked with World Wrestling All-Stars (WWA) from 2001 to 2002, where he famously won the WWA World Heavyweight Championship early in 2002. He also performed for Pro Wrestling Zero1-Max, winning the NWA Intercontinental Tag Team Championship with Jon Heidenreich in October 2002.

In 2002, Jones signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he was introduced as “The Colossus of Boggo Road,” reflecting his past. He debuted on WWE television in April 2003, engaging in a storyline with The Undertaker and appearing at WrestleMania XIX. After a period in Ohio Valley Wrestling to refine his skills, he returned to WWE television later in 2003 as a villain, aligning with Paul Heyman and participating in Brock Lesnar’s Survivor Series team. Jones left WWE in December 2003 due to the demanding travel schedule. Following his wrestling retirement in 2005, Jones shifted his focus entirely to acting, a career path he had begun in 1996.

His acting career has seen him take on roles in various films, often cast as formidable characters due to his imposing physique. Notable cinematic achievements include his role as Boagrius in the 2004 film “Troy,” and more recently, the menacing Rictus Erectus in “Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015) and its prequel “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” (2024). Other significant roles include T.K. in “Tom-Yum-Goong” (2005), Hercules O’Brien in “Fearless” (2006), and Reiko in “Mortal Kombat” (2021). Jones has also appeared in “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” (2019) as a Russian Fighter Pilot and in “Spiderhead” (2022) as Rogan. He continues to appear in film projects, with several upcoming roles such as Goliath in “David” and Axelrod Thrasher in “Gearhead.” He resides in Queensland, Australia, with his wife Fawn Tran and their son.
