Neel Wanders is a multi-ethnic London-based biologist best known for his sustainability-focused travel blog, Flunking Monkey, his award-nominated travel photography, and his work as an environmental consultant. His travels and conservation work, from working with elephants in Asia to sea turtles in Greece, have won him an Instagram audience of more than 130,000 souls, as well as many visitors to his website.
Wanders launched the Flunking Monkey website and Instagram page in 2016 as a place to record his travels, but he soon found that a very wide audience was interested in his brilliant photos of diverse landscapes from all over the world. His work as a biologist gave him a unique insight into the sometimes harmful nature of travel, and so his eco-conscious blog posts saw him align with a generation of climate-conscious creators who want to explore the world but leave as small a footprint as possible.
Flunking Monkey features Wanders’ pictures and thought-provoking blog posts about wildlife both abroad and in the UK, as well as the latest conservation news. He also uses the site to fundraise for conservation projects close to his heart.
