Neil Brown Jr.

Born as Cornelius C. Brown Jr. on June 19, 1980, in Orlando, Florida, Neil Brown Jr. began his acting journey unexpectedly. His first role came by chance when a producer visited his karate dojo looking for talent for the TV series WMAC Masters. This initial experience ignited his passion for acting, a path he has pursued consistently since. He is married to Catrina Robinson Brown since April 23, 2000, and they have two children.

Brown’s career includes notable roles across various genres. In television, he portrayed Felix in “South Beach” (2006) and Guillermo in “The Walking Dead” (2010). He also held a recurring role as Clifford Danner in “Suits” from 2011 to 2013. A significant period in his television career was his portrayal of Chad Kerr in the HBO series “Insecure” from 2016 to 2021, and his main cast role as Chief Warrant Officer Raymond “Ray” Perry in “SEAL Team” from 2017 to 2024. His filmography includes a key role as DJ Yella in the critically and commercially successful 2015 biopic “Straight Outta Compton” and LCpl. Richard “Motown” Guerrero in “Battle: Los Angeles” (2011).
