On Season 8 of Paramount Network’s “Ink Master,” Nikki Simpson made her debut as the fiery contestant to beat. She is a tattoo artist at Everblack Tattoo, a premier private tattoo studio in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood with a speakeasy vibe which she opened in 2020 with her husband Tim Goergen.
Before opening her own store, she worked at Grit N Glory, the New York City-based rock-n-roll boutique and tattoo studio. She is perhaps best known for tattooing detailed black and grey lady faces with single pops of color. She incorporates a lot of Greek mythology into her tattoos, as well as a classic pin-up vibe, and she specializes in illustrative realism.
During her time on “Ink Master” she formed an alliance with other female tattoo artists including Ryan Ashley, Kelly Doty, and Gia Rose. The four artists then went on to host “Ink Master Angels,” a spin-off of the tattoo reality competition which Simpson participated in for two seasons. Simpson and friends flew around the country, vying against some of the best local artists competing to earn a spot on “Ink Master.” She has also returned to “Ink Master” in subsequent seasons of the show as a guest coach to new crops of contestants.
