Nikki Simpson

Nikki Simpson began her tattooing career in 2011 at the age of 19 in Tucson, Arizona, quickly establishing herself in the industry. Her dedication and artistic talent led her to national recognition when she participated in Season 8 of the acclaimed tattoo reality competition, “Ink Master,” that aired from August to December 2016. Representing Team Nuñez, Nikki competed against 17 other artists and ultimately secured a fifth-place finish, showcasing her proficiency in various tattooing styles and techniques. This experience further solidified her reputation as a formidable artist within the male-dominated tattoo world.

Following “Ink Master,” Nikki continued to expand her presence in the media. She joined a group of female tattoo artists, including Ryan Ashley, Kelly Doty, and Gia Rose, to host “Ink Master Angels,” a spin-off series, where she contributed for two seasons. This show highlighted female collaboration and talent, further cementing her status as a trailblazer. In December 2019, Simpson announced a significant career milestone: the opening of her own tattoo establishment, EverBlack Tattoo Studio, in Brooklyn, NYC, in early 2020. She co-owns this private studio with her husband, Tim Goergen, where she focuses on her signature style of romantic, illustrative realism, particularly specializing in black and grey lady faces and ornamental designs.

Nikki’s work, characterized by its dark, romantic aesthetic, often features detailed black and grey lady faces with subtle pops of color, woodland witches, fierce goddesses, and intricate floral elements. Her journey from an apprentice to a renowned artist and studio owner signifies her influence and expertise in the tattoo community. She continues to be an active figure, known for her high-quality work and her role in promoting female artists in the industry.
