Daniel Jacob, known by his stage name Vinegar Strokes, was born on August 21, 1984, in London, United Kingdom. Of Jamaican descent, Jacob pursued formal education in the performing arts, studying at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with the intention of becoming an actor. His career trajectory shifted when he adopted the Vinegar Strokes persona, which subsequently led to acting opportunities.
Vinegar Strokes gained wider recognition through her participation in the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2019. This appearance was a significant milestone, establishing her in the drag scene. Concurrently with her television exposure, Vinegar Strokes also engaged in West End theatrical work, performing alongside Drag Race judge Michelle Visage and US Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio in the musical “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.” After her time on Drag Race UK, she continued her stage career, taking on the role of Lady Von Fistenberg in the play “Death Drop.”
In addition to theatrical performances and television, Vinegar Strokes has released music singles, including “Camp!” in 2019 and “Surrender” in 2020. She has expanded her digital presence with an online cooking series and lent her voice to the character Lucretious in the 2023 video game “Baldur’s Gate 3.” Most recently, Vinegar Strokes has been featured as ‘The Diva’ on Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady.
