Nusrat Imrose Tisha, affectionately known as Tisha, is a luminary in the Bangladeshi entertainment industry, celebrated for her dynamic presence in both television and film. Hailing from Rajshahi, Bangladesh, Tisha’s ascent to stardom began when she showcased her talent on the prestigious platform of the Bangladeshi reality television competition, Notun Kuri, in 1993. Since then, her journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Tisha’s inaugural foray into acting occurred at a tender age of 9, captivating audiences in the Bengali television drama “Shat Prohorer Kabbo” in 1998. With over a hundred television dramas to her credit as of 2020, she has become a household name, earning widespread acclaim for her versatile performances.
Her silver screen debut in the Bengali drama “Third Person Singular Number” (2009) marked a significant milestone in her career. Portraying the character Ru ba Haque, Tisha garnered accolades, including a nomination for the Meril-Prothom Alo Award for Best Film Actress and a win for the Critics Choice Award for Best Film Actress. The film also represented Bangladesh at the 83rd Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film.
Collaborating with renowned director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Tisha further solidified her status as a cinematic force with acclaimed roles in films like “Television” (2012) and “Doob: No Bed of Roses” (2017). Her contributions to Bangladeshi cinema have been recognized with two National Film Awards by 2020.
