Lisa Olivia Munn was born on July 3, 1980, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her early life included a period of being primarily raised in Tokyo, Japan, due to her stepfather’s military service, where she engaged in local theater productions and worked as a model in the Japanese fashion industry. After returning to the United States and completing a Bachelor of Arts in journalism with a minor in Japanese and dramatic arts from the University of Oklahoma, Munn pursued an acting career in Los Angeles. Her initial roles included a small part in the horror film “Scarecrow Gone Wild” and a recurring role as teen surfer Mily Acuna in the TV series “Beyond the Break” (2006).
Munn’s career gained momentum in 2006 when she became a co-host for the G4 network program “Attack of the Show!”, a role she held until 2010. During this period, she also appeared in films like “Big Stan” (2007) and “Insanitarium” (2008). A significant turning point occurred in 2010 when she joined “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” as a correspondent, contributing to 16 episodes.
