Tiffany Hsu

Tiffany Ann Hsu, known professionally as Tiffany Hsu, was born Wei-Ning Hsu on August 7, 1984, in Taipei City, Taiwan. Of Italian-American and Taiwanese heritage, she was raised by her mother and maternal grandparents after her father left when she was two years old. She pursued her education at Taipei Hwa Kang Arts School and Chinese Cultural University, majoring in Drama Acting. Her career began in modeling when she was scouted by Catwalk Agency in 2003 after participating in an MTV Taiwan talent casting.

Hsu’s acting career commenced in 2004 with a lead role in the TV series “Jia You Fei Fei,” for which she also sang the theme song. She gained early recognition for her supporting roles as Pei Ziyu in the popular Taiwanese drama series “Mischievous Kiss” (2005) and its sequel “They Kiss Again” (2007). Her cinematic debut came in 2006 with “Song shu zi sha shi jian.” Significant roles followed in idol dramas like “Ai jiu zhai yi qi” (2009) and “Autumn’s Concerto” (2009). A turning point in her film career was her first lead movie role in “Design 7 Love” (2014), which earned her a Golden Horse Award nomination for Best New Performer, demonstrating her range and capability as a leading actress.

Throughout her career, Hsu has consistently taken on challenging roles across various genres. Her performance in “The Way We Were” (2014) led to a Golden Bell Award for Best Supporting Actress. Further acclaim came from her work in horror films such as “The Tag-Along” (2015) and “The Tag-Along 2” (2017), where she played lead character Shen Yi-Chun. She has also expanded her work into web series and international collaborations, marrying fellow actor Roy Chiu in 2021, her co-star from “Man in Love” (2021). Hsu continues to be a prominent figure in Taiwanese entertainment, consistently contributing to acclaimed productions and earning multiple awards for her performances.
