Oscar Nunez is a celebrated actor and comedian, widely recognized for his enduring role as Oscar Martinez in NBC’s ‘The Office,’ a character he reprises in the new spinoff series ‘The Paper.’ After rising to prominence with his celebrated portrayal of Oscar Martinez in NBC’s critically acclaimed series ‘The Office’ from 2005 to 2013, Oscar Nunez garnered two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 2007 and 2008. His foundational comedy career began in New York with The Shock of the Funny theater company, where he performed over 300 shows, before honing his craft with The Groundlings in Los Angeles. Nunez further developed his writing skills by graduating from the Warner Brothers Comedy Writer’s Workshop in 1997 and becoming a finalist in the ABC Latino Writers Project in 1999. In 2007, he received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Broadband Comedy for his work on ‘The Office: The Accountants.’ Expanding his creative footprint, Nunez co-created, co-starred, and served as an executive producer for the Comedy Central series ‘Halfway Home’ in 2007.
