The wonderfully warm and jovial Patrice Evra is a football coach and former professional player, who most famously kept defence for Manchester United between 2006 and 2014. He is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the world and captained both United and France during his illustrious career. He was named to the PFA Team of the Year on three occasions, and to the FIFPro World XI and the UEFA Team of the Year. He released his autobiography, I Love This Game, in 2021.
Born in Senegal and raised in France, Evra began playing football as a youth for his hometown club of CO Les Ulis in 1992. He moved to CSF Brétigny in 1993, and then began his professional career as a striker with the Italian side Marsala in 1998. He briefly joined Monza in 1999, before returning to France when he signed with Nice in 2000 where he was converted into a full-back. In 2002 he joined Monaco, and helped the team reach the UEFA Champions League final. In January 2006 he signed with Manchester United and went on to help the Reds win five Premier League titles, and one UEFA Champions League. After 273 appearances and seven goals, Evra returned to Italy to play for Juventus, where he helped the club win two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias, and a Supercoppa Italiana. He then moved to Marseille in January 2017, but was released in November. Following a short-term contract with West Ham United, he retired from the game in 2019. On the international stage he earned 81 caps for France between 2004 and 2016, representing them at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 UEFA Euros, and at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups. Since retiring he has worked as a football pundit, and in September 2019 he returned to Manchester United as a trainee coach.
Evra regularly connects with his millions of followers and fans through Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok, posting pictures and videos about his life around football. He is also available for that personalised shout-out through the cameo platform.
