Perry King

Perry King is an American actor and director, recognized for his extensive work across film, television, and radio, with notable roles in productions like “Riptide” and “The Day After Tomorrow.” After earning a Golden Globe nomination in 1984 for his compelling performance in the TV movie The Hasty Heart, Perry King solidified his standing in television by taking on the main role of Cody Allen in the critically acclaimed crime drama series Riptide, which aired from 1984 to 1986. King’s professional career began in the early 1970s with his feature film debut in the 1972 movie Slaughterhouse-Five. He quickly followed this with significant roles as Chico Tyrell in the 1974 acclaimed feature The Lords of Flatbush and as Hammond Maxwell in 1975’s Mandingo. Beyond his on-screen work, King also lent his voice to iconic radio adaptations, notably portraying Han Solo in the full-cast radio series for Star Wars and its sequels, a role he had originally auditioned for in the film adaptation itself.
