Multi-Emmy nominated television host and author Philippe Cousteau co-founded EarthEcho International in 2000, an organization that has since empowered over 2 million youth across 146 countries to protect and restore marine environments. Cousteaus early career in media included co-hosting Oceans for BBC Two and serving as a Special Correspondent for CNN International, where he hosted Going Green from 2010 to 2014, in addition to hosting Expedition Sumatra for CNN in 2013. He later became the host and executive producer of the multi-Emmy nominated series Xploration Awesome Planet, which premiered in 2014 and is now in its seventh season. In 2007, Cousteau also co-founded Azure Worldwide.
Cousteau continued to expand his television footprint, receiving a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2015, followed by another Emmy nomination for Awesome Planet in 2017. He co-hosted Nuclear Sharks for Discovery’s Shark Week in 2016 and the Cynopsis Media Award-winning series Caribbean Pirate Treasure for The Travel Channel, recognized as Best Adventure Reality Series. An accomplished author, Cousteaus childrens book, Follow the Moon Home, was published in 2016 and earned a place on the Bluebonnet Award Master List. He also authored Make a Splash and co-authored Going Blue.
He serves on the National Council of the World Wildlife Fund and is a board member for organizations including Antarctica 2030, Green 2.0, and the Environmental Media Association. He further holds an honorary doctorate in marine biology from the University of Plymouth, solidifying his dedication to ocean conservation and environmental education.
