Prince Lorenzo Borghese was born on June 9, 1972, in Milan, Italy, to Prince Francesco and Amanda Borghese. In 1979, his family relocated to Short Hills, New Jersey. He completed his high school education at Pomfret School in Pomfret, Connecticut, graduating in 1991. He then went on to graduate from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, in 1995, where he was initiated into the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Furthering his education, he earned an MBA from the Fordham Graduate School of Business in 2001.
