Nika Vodan, born Nika Križnar on March 9, 2000, in Škofja Loka, Slovenia, began her career as a ski jumper at a young age, showcasing early talent in the sport. Representing SSK Norica Žiri, she quickly progressed through the ranks, making her debut in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup season in 2015–16. Her dedication and athletic ability led to consistent improvement, establishing her as a prominent figure in women’s ski jumping.
Vodan achieved a significant milestone in the 2020–21 World Cup season, where she secured the overall title, finishing nine points ahead of competitor Sara Takanashi. This achievement demonstrated her capability to perform at the highest level consistently. Her success continued into the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where she earned a bronze medal in the women’s normal hill individual event and a gold medal in the mixed team competition. These Olympic medals further cemented her status as a top-tier athlete in ski jumping.
