Priscilla Hon was born on May 10, 1998, in Brisbane, Australia, to Hong Kong parents. She was introduced to various athletic pursuits at a young age. Hon’s junior tennis career saw her reach a career-high ranking of No. 13 in the world, with a notable semifinal appearance in the 2014 Wimbledon Championships girls’ doubles. Her professional debut in a major main draw occurred in January 2015 at the Australian Open, where, at 16, she competed in women’s doubles as a wildcard.
Hon advanced her career in 2015 by winning her first ITF singles title in Mornington, Australia, and a second one in Brisbane, defeating fellow Australian Kimberly Birrell. Her progress continued with a main-draw wildcard into the 2016 Brisbane International and the 2016 Australian Open, following her win at the U-18 National Championships in December 2015. Over the next few years, Hon gained experience on the WTA Tour, securing her first main-draw win at a major event in the 2019 French Open and later reaching the second round of the Australian Open in 2020. A hip injury during the COVID-19 pandemic hiatus sidelined her for over a year, but she made a notable return.
In 2022, Hon achieved a significant milestone by defeating world No. 17 Petra Kvitová at the Adelaide International, marking her first win against a top-20 player. The year 2025 became a pivotal season, with her debut in the Wimbledon main draw and advancing to the third round of the US Open after qualifying. She also secured her first WTA 1000 main-draw win at the China Open, leading to her entry into the top 100 in the singles rankings on October 6, 2025. Hon has also developed business ventures, co-founding a sneaker brand called Platform Six and leading Perenne Vintage.
