Rachel Garcia

Rachel Garcia is an Olympic silver medalist and two-time Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year who has transitioned her success from the collegiate softball diamond to professional leagues and coaching roles. After earning NFCA National Freshman of the Year and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors in 2017, Rachel Garcia went on to become an Olympic silver medalist and two-time Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. In her redshirt freshman year at UCLA, Garcia achieved a 23-9 record with a 1.87 ERA and 212 strikeouts, complementing a .325 batting average, eight home runs, and 29 RBIs. Her sophomore year in 2018 solidified her status, recording an impressive 29-4 pitching record with a 1.31 ERA and 315 strikeouts.

The same year, Garcia was awarded the prestigious Honda Cup as the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year, a recognition she would achieve again later in her career. Her international career also began in 2019, securing a Gold Medal at the Pan American Games with the USA Softball Women’s National Team. Following her selection to the U.S. Olympic Softball Team in 2020, Garcia returned to UCLA in 2021 after sitting out the previous season.

Women’s National Team. In 2024, Garcia earned a Silver Medal with the U.S. Women’s National Team at the Women’s Softball World Cup. Her professional playing career officially commenced with her being drafted first overall in the 2025 Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) draft, where she joined the Volts.

Concurrently, she achieved another significant international milestone, earning a Gold Medal for the United States at the World Games in 2025, further cementing her legacy as a formidable presence in global softball.
