During his four years with the Shockers (2014-2018), Kelly was instrumental in securing three Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Regular Season Championships (2015, 2016, 2017) and an MVC Tournament Championship in 2017. His individual excellence was recognized with a selection to the 2017 Maui Invitational All-Tournament Team, the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference All-Bench Team, and as the 2017 Cleo Littleton Most Improved Player. In his senior year, The Athletic named him to their 2018 All-Glue Team. Kelly set a school record by playing 139 consecutive games, never missing a game or practice, and concluded his collegiate career with 654 rebounds, placing him among the top 20 all-time for the Shockers.
His journey continued in France with JDA Dijon Basket for the 2021-2022 season, showcasing his adaptability and consistent performance across diverse European leagues. In 2022, Kelly expanded his global footprint, signing with the Tasmania JackJumpers in Australia for the 2022-2023 season, further demonstrating his versatility and appeal in different basketball markets. He continued his international play in 2023, joining BC Wolves in Lithuania and Prometey, before returning to France with ADA Blois for the 2023-2024 season. These experiences have allowed Kelly to compete in various top-tier leagues across multiple continents, solidifying his reputation as a highly versatile and dependable power forward.
