One of the world’s leading futurists, Richard Worzel is a Toronto-based consultant, speaker, and author who focuses on studying the future and helping organizations use change to their advantage. With a client list that includes Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Ford, Nissan, and the U.S. Navy, he’s worked closely with some of the world’s most recognizable institutions.
Worzel graduated from the University of Rochester in 1973 and went on to work in the investment industry as an institutional investor. He soon received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and started his own consulting firm in 1979. He began work at FutureSearch a decade later, and for over 30 years he has studied the future as his full-time job. A member of the World Future Society, he’s known for his keynote speeches, workshops, seminars, and innovation sessions that focus on intelligent planning for the future.
His presentations are highly customizable and cover a virtually endless list of relevant topics. Worzel is knowledgeable on factors that will affect a variety of industries and has helped organizations turn their uncertainties into advantages for several decades. He doesn’t try to predict the future, but rather studies where we’re going, what’s going to happen, and what we can do about it. He’s also an accomplished blogger and author of five successful books including Who Owns Tomorrow, which was listed as a best-seller by the Financial Post in its second week of publication.
