Robert Buckley has been involved in multiple projects with the Hallmark Channel, both as an actor, writer, and executive producer. These projects include his role in 'Love in Store', 'The Christmas House', and its sequel 'The Christmas House 2: Deck Those Halls'. Robert Earl Buckley was born on May 2, 1981, in Los Angeles, California. He is a Southern California native who pursued higher education at the University of California at San Diego, where he earned a degree in Economics in 2003. After completing his degree, Buckley gained professional experience working as an economic consultant for approximately a year and a half. Following this period, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Buckley’s acting career began with a series regular role as Michael Bauer in the MyNetworkTV primetime telenovela ‘Fashion House’ in 2006. He made his feature film debut in the horror film ‘When a Killer Calls’ the same year. His early career also included a main role in another MyNetworkTV telenovela, ‘American Heiress,’ and a guest appearance on ‘Ghost Whisperer’ in 2007. A significant turning point in his acting career came with his casting as Kirby Atwood on NBC’s ‘Lipstick Jungle’ from 2008 to 2009. He then went on to portray Clay Evans on The CW’s ‘One Tree Hill’ from 2009 to 2012, appearing in 57 episodes. His work extended to co-creating and executive producing ‘The Christmas House’ for Hallmark, a project based on his childhood Christmas traditions, which later had a sequel, ‘The Christmas House 2: Deck Those Halls’ in 2021. He also starred as Major Lilywhite for 71 episodes on The CW’s ‘iZombie’ from 2015 to 2019, and as Evan Kincaid on the Hallmark Channel series ‘Chesapeake Shores’ from 2021 to 2022.
