House of Cards First Lady and Golden Globe winner Robin Wright is a highly accomplished television and film actress.
Wright’s career started out with a role in NBC Daytime soap opera Santa Barbara. She starred in the show for 4 years, and was nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards for the role. After she left the show she started to land roles in film, winning roles in The Princess Bride and Forrest Gump. These paved the way for more high profile roles on the big screen such as Unbreakable, Moneyball and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. In 2013 she was cast in major television series House of Cards. Wright has become infamous as the ice queen First Lady in the show, garnering significant attention from critics and taking over as the show’s lead for the final seasons of the programme in 2017. She has been nominated for numerous awards for her commanding performances as Claire Underwood, including a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Critic’s Choice Television Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Not satisfied with a starring role in one of the most popular TV shows of the last ten years, Wright has landed further roles in films such as Wonder Woman and Blade Runner.
Most recently, it has been announced that Wright will make her directorial debut in film Land as well as starring in the film. This hugely successful actress is no stranger to the limelight, and has a bright future ahead of her.
