Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is an accomplished Indian international cricketer known for his exceptional batting and leadership, transitioning from a talented young player to one of the most successful captains in cricket history. After making his List A debut in March 2005 and contributing to Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy win in the 2006–07 season, Rohit Sharma quickly distinguished himself. His international career commenced in June 2007 with his ODI debut, and he soon became a key member of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup-winning squad, contributing an unbeaten 50 against South Africa and 30 not out in the final against Pakistan. Sharma’s career saw a significant turning point in 2013 when promoted to open the innings in ODIs, a strategic move that led to consistent, high-impact performances.

He made his Test debut in November 2013, scoring 177 and an unbeaten 111 in his first two matches. Sharma cemented his reputation as a formidable leader by captaining the Mumbai Indians to a record five Indian Premier League (IPL) titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020). Internationally, he led India to victory in the 2018 and 2023 Asia Cups, the 2018 Nidahas Trophy, the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, and the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. As a batsman, he holds numerous records, including the highest individual score in a One Day International (264 runs in November 2014) and three ODI double centuries.

He then led India to win the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, announcing his Test retirement in May 2025. Sharma also expanded into business, investing in supply chain firm Prozo in June 2025, concluding his IPL career with a record 19 Player of the Match awards, the highest by an Indian.
