Rupal Patel

Rupal Patel, born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, embarked on her acting journey after completing a Commerce degree from Mumbai University. Her deep interest in drama led her to formal training at the National School of Drama in New Delhi. Patel’s extensive career in the Indian entertainment industry spans films and television, characterized by her commitment and diverse roles. In 1991, she began her film career with ‘Antarnaad’ and continued with notable appearances in films such as ‘Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda’ (1992), ‘Mammo’ (1994), and ‘Samar’ (1999). Transitioning to television, she took on the role of Lakhi in ‘Shagun’ (2001) and later appeared in ‘Sau Dada Sasuna’ (2002), followed by a role in ‘Crime Patrol’.

Her career saw a significant turning point with her iconic portrayal of Kokila Modi in the popular TV series “Saath Nibhaana Saathiya” from 2010 to 2017. This role established her as a household name and earned her widespread acclaim. Following this, she took on the role of Meenakshi Rajvansh Kapadia in “Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke” (2019-2020), showcasing her versatility. In 2020, she reprised her role as Kokila Modi in “Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2” for its initial episodes and also made a guest appearance in “Gangs of Filmistaan.” Her more recent work includes “Tera Mera Saath Rahe” (2021-2022) as Mithila Modi and “Nath Zewar Ya Zanjeer” (2024) as Kailashi Devi. Beyond her acting, Patel owns ‘Panorama Art Theatres,’ a group focused on children’s plays, demonstrating her dedication to nurturing young talent in the arts. Her contributions to the Swachh Bharat India project have been recognized twice by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting her involvement in social initiatives.
