United States Ryan Eggold is an American actor known for his roles in popular television series such as "The Blacklist" and "New Amsterdam." He has also expanded his career into directing, writing, and producing films.
Actor-writer-director Ryan Eggold signed a first-look deal with Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, to develop projects across various platforms. The deal includes his production company, Analog A Productions, and Kara Frias was named head of development for the company.

Ryan Eggold was born on August 10, 1984, in Lakewood, California. He pursued his passion for acting from an early age, participating in school plays at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, from which he graduated in 2002. His dedication led him to study at the University of Southern California’s esteemed theater department, graduating in 2006. Shortly after, Eggold made his professional television debut on “Related” and his professional film debut in “Con: The Corruption of Helm,” both in 2006. He quickly secured recurring television roles on various networks, including CBS, HBO, Cartoon Network, ABC, The CW, and FX, signaling the start of a versatile career in the entertainment industry.
Eggold gained significant recognition for his role as Tom Keen in the NBC drama “The Blacklist,” appearing from 2013 to 2018. This role was further explored in the spin-off series “The Blacklist: Redemption” in 2017, where he reprised his character. Demonstrating a broader range of talent beyond acting, Eggold stepped behind the camera to write, direct, produce, and compose the film “Literally Right Before Aaron” (2017), which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. This feature film was an expansion of his award-winning 2011 short film of the same name. His filmography also includes supporting roles in critically acclaimed movies such as Spike Lee’s Academy Award-winning “BlacKKKlansman” (2018) and Eliza Hittman’s drama “Never Rarely Sometimes Always” (2020).
From 2018 to 2023, Eggold starred as Dr. Max Goodwin in the NBC series “New Amsterdam,” a leading role that further solidified his presence in television. During this period, he also directed three episodes of the series, showcasing his growing expertise in filmmaking. In 2021, he signed a first-look deal with Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, to develop new projects through his production company, Analog A Productions. Beyond his acting and directing career, Eggold is also a musician, playing guitar and piano and singing in the band Eleanor Avenue, highlighting his diverse artistic interests.
