Sabrina Carpenter has established herself as a versatile talent, transitioning from a Disney Channel actress and singer to a multi-platinum recording artist and influential figure in pop culture. After securing her breakthrough role as Maya Hart in Disney Channel’s hit series ‘Girl Meets World’ in January 2013, a character she would portray for 72 episodes until 2017, Sabrina Carpenter swiftly diversified her career into music, signing a five-album deal with Disney’s Hollywood Records in 2014. Her professional acting journey began in 2011 with a guest role on NBC’s ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,’ followed by a recurring role in Fox’s ‘The Goodwin Games’ in 2012 and a recurring voice role as Princess Vivian in ‘Sofia the First’ from 2013 to 2018. Carpenter’s debut single, ‘Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying,’ released in March 2014, became the title track of her debut EP.
Her single ‘Skin’ became her first entry on both the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 48) and the Billboard Global 200 (No. 33) that year. She followed this with her critically acclaimed fifth studio album, Emails I Can’t Send, released in July 2022, which debuted at number 23 on the Billboard 200.
Building on this momentum, 2024 proved to be a landmark year with her single ‘Espresso’ topping the Billboard Global 200 and peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. This was swiftly followed by ‘Please Please Please,’ which became her first US Hot 100 number one single. Her highly anticipated sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, is slated for release in 2024. Looking ahead, Sabrina Carpenter is recognized with two Grammy Awards in 2025, solidifying her status as a leading artist.
