Samantha Lane

Samantha Lane is an award-winning Australian sports journalist and author, known for her pioneering work in broadcast media and print, particularly in Australian Rules Football, for which she championed inclusion and gender equity. After joining Network Ten’s ‘Before the Game’ AFL panel show as a panellist in 2003, Samantha Lane went on to establish herself as a pioneering Australian sports journalist and author. She remained a prominent voice on the program until the end of the 2012 football season, covering the Australian Football League (AFL). Lane also contributed significantly to print media, writing for the Carlton Football Club monthly magazine and providing reports for the official AFL website, building a specialization in the Australian Football League while also covering a diverse range of other sports.

She is an active ambassador for the Basil Sellers Art Prize, Run Melbourne, and maintains an ongoing ambassadorial role for Breast Cancer Network Australia.
