Sanjay Badhe is a retail and marketing consultant, specialising in Indian, South East Asian and Middle Eastern markets. He has had a number of senior roles across the region, and now lectures at the Indian School of Business.
Badhe began his career working as a market researcher before becoming an executive director of MARG Marketing and Research Group. He then moved on to become the General Manager at Al Futtaim Trading Company and the Director of Retail at Raymond Limited. This experience led him to become the Director of Operations at Shoppers Stop Ltd and the Senior Vice President of Aditya Birla Retail Ltd, before opening his own consultancy in 2009. His broad range of hands-on experience means he has a great understanding of these markets, and now advises for a number of organisations in software, retail and consumer package goods. He is involved with a number of new start ups, as well as product development and trade channel development for the emerging market superpowers of India and the Middle East.
The consumer specialist now lectures at the Indian School of Business and the Tata Management Training Centre, discussing how the region can overcome its infrastructure problems to become a world leader in the sales field. Badhe uses his expert knowledge of consumer trends to advise on solutions for the challenges facing these emerging economies and to contribute to the rapid growth of the area.
