Saul Miller

Achieving the distinguished rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E9) in the U.S. Air Force, Saul Miller reached the highest enlisted position possible, reflecting significant contributions during his dedicated military service. Miller was awarded four Air Force Commendation Medals and two Meritorious Service Medals, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication. Notably, he was the only enlisted Commander in the Strategic Air Command (SAC), where he commanded the 3900 Computer Services Squadron at March Air Force Base.

Parallel to his military career, Miller cultivated a professional career as a tenor saxophonist, performing alongside jazz and blues luminaries such as Phineas Newborn Jr., B.B. King, John Coltrane, and Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland. He further distinguished himself academically, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Following his highly decorated military tenure, Miller transitioned seamlessly into civilian leadership, serving for 25 years as the IT Director at Riverside Community Hospital.

During this extensive period, he held key leadership positions including Deacon Chairman, Elder, and Chairman of the Board of Directors, ultimately earning the esteemed title of Deacon Emeritus. His long-standing commitment to these roles underscored his unwavering dedication to community building and spiritual guidance, leaving an indelible mark. Across a multifaceted career spanning military distinction, technological leadership, and profound family and community impact, Saul Miller’s professional achievements and influence remain significant.
