Scott Christopher Grimes was born on July 9, 1971, in Lowell, Massachusetts. His career in entertainment began at an early age, starring at 13 in the 1984 made-for-TV holiday movies “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear” with Mickey Rooney and “The Night They Saved Christmas.” This early start established a foundation for a career that would span decades across various mediums. Beyond acting, Grimes also developed a music career, releasing his debut album “Scott Grimes” in 1989 through A&M Records.
Throughout his career, Grimes has been involved in several notable projects distinguishing himself across different genres. He is widely recognized for his long-standing voice role as Steve Smith in the animated series “American Dad!,” which began in 2005 and continues to the present. On television, he portrayed Dr. Archie Morris in “ER” from 2003 to 2009, initially as a recurring character before being upgraded to a main role in season 12. He also played Will McCorkle in “Party of Five” from 1994 to 2000 and Lieutenant Gordon Malloy in “The Orville” from 2017 to 2022.
