Scott Grimes

Scott Grimes is an American actor and singer, recognized for his extensive work across television and film, as well as his musical contributions. After starring in the 1984 made-for-TV holiday movies ‘It Came Upon the Midnight Clear’ opposite Mickey Rooney and ‘The Night They Saved Christmas,’ Scott Grimes established a multi-faceted career spanning film, television, and music. In 1989, Grimes released his self-titled debut album, Scott Grimes, through A&M Records. He then went on to portray Will McCorkle in the popular television series ‘Party of Five’ from 1994 to 2000, and showcased his dramatic range as Sergeant Donald Malarkey in the critically acclaimed HBO miniseries ‘Band of Brothers’ in 2001.

Grimes continued to build on this success with a significant role as Dr. Archie Morris in ‘ER’ from 2003 to 2009, initially as a recurring character before being elevated to a main role in season 12. Simultaneously, he began his long-standing and recognizable voice role as Steve Smith in the animated series ‘American Dad!’, a role he has continued since 2005. His musical pursuits also flourished with the release of his album Livin’ on the Run in 2005, which featured the single ‘Sunset Blvd’ that climbed to number 18 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart in April 2005.

Maintaining a robust presence in both animation and live-action, Scott Grimes continues his voice work as Steve Smith in the ongoing ‘American Dad!’ series. Most recently, he took on the role of Matty Bennett in the new ‘Ted’ TV series, which premiered in 2024, adding another prominent character to his extensive television resume. His sustained career, marked by diverse and impactful roles across genres and mediums, highlights his enduring talent and marketability in the entertainment industry.
