Robert Alfred Morley, professionally known as Bob Morley, was born on December 20, 1984, in Kyneton, Victoria, Australia. Growing up on a farm, he later pursued an engineering degree in Melbourne before shifting his focus to Creative Arts at La Trobe University. His early career began with university plays and short films, leading to an appearance in the 2005 low-budget horror film “Dead Harvest.” He also featured as an extra in “Neighbours” before earning a role in “Angels with Dirty Faces,” which brought him to the attention of casting directors for “Home and Away.”
Morley’s career took off with his role as Drew Curtis in the Australian soap opera “Home and Away” (2006-2008), for which he received a Logie Award nomination for Most Popular New Male Talent. He participated in the celebrity singing competition “It Takes Two” in 2007. Following his departure from “Home and Away,” he was cast as Tony Moretti in the Nine Network’s action-drama series “The Strip” (2008) and appeared in the television film “Scorched” (2008). In 2011, he joined the cast of “Neighbours” as Aidan Foster, a significant role as part of the show’s first gay couple. He then starred in the Australian thriller “Road Train” (2011) and the sports drama film “Blinder” (2013).
A significant turning point in Morley’s career came in 2013 when he was cast as Bellamy Blake in The CW’s “The 100” (2014–2020), a role that gained him international recognition and multiple Teen Choice Award nominations. Beyond acting, Morley expanded into directing, completing the Warner Bros. Television Directors’ Workshop in 2018 and directing an episode of “The 100.” Post-“The 100,” he has appeared in “The Rookie” (2021), the romantic drama series “Love Me” (2021-2023), and “In Limbo” (2023), earning an AACTA Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for “Love Me” and a Logie Award nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy for “In Limbo.” He also co-created and directed the short film “Status: Active” (2025) and has upcoming roles in “Death on the Dearborn” and the psychological horror film “Another.”
