Scotty Rodgers

Scotty Rodgers, a native of Wantagh, NY, established himself as a prominent figure in collegiate lacrosse, particularly during his time at Notre Dame. He was recognized as the Most Outstanding Player of the 2010 NCAA Championship and earned two All-America honors. In 2009, he was named the Great Western Lacrosse Player of the Year and was a Second Team All-BIG EAST selection in 2010. Rodgers demonstrated exceptional performance, leading the nation in goals-against average (6.14) and save percentage (0.663) in 2009. He continued to lead the nation in save percentage (0.605) in 2010, while also ranking third nationally in goals-against average (7.56).

Rodgers played in 38 career games, starting 31 of them, and concluded his collegiate career with a 6.77 goals-against average and a 0.642 save percentage, making 371 saves. His achievements led to him being drafted by the Toronto Nationals in the second round (seventh overall pick) of the 2010 MLL Draft and by the Minnesota Swarm in the second round (15th overall pick) of the 2010 NLL Draft. Following his playing career, Rodgers transitioned into coaching, contributing to Towson University (2 years) and Marquette University (2 years) as an assistant coach. He further enhanced his coaching experience with a five-year tenure at Calvert Hall College, a high school in Maryland, where he guided the team to three consecutive MIAA championships.

Currently, Scotty Rodgers holds the position of Director of Goalies at IMG Academy. In this capacity, he oversees the development of goalies and also serves as an assistant coach for both the boys’ varsity and national teams. Rodgers’ career reflects a progression from an elite collegiate athlete to a respected coach and mentor, impacting numerous lacrosse players through his leadership and technical expertise.
