Trevor Baptiste

Trevor Baptiste, born on July 3, 1996, in Newark, New Jersey, is a prominent figure in professional lacrosse, specializing in face-off. His early life involved playing lacrosse and swimming at Morristown-Beard School in Morristown, New Jersey, where he served as a lacrosse team captain, leading them to an undefeated season and a state championship runner-up position. He accumulated 100 goals, 43 assists, and 640 ground balls during his high school career, earning him recognition as an Under Armour Underclass All-American in 2013 and a US Lacrosse All-American in 2014.

Baptiste attended the University of Denver, where he quickly made an impact. In 2015, his freshman year, he set an NCAA Division I season record for face-off wins by a freshman and led college lacrosse in face-off win percentage (72%). He was a 4x First Team All-American (2015-2018), a 2x Tewaaraton Finalist, and instrumental in leading the Pioneers to a National Championship in 2015, the first in the school’s history and for any team west of the Appalachian Mountains. His consistent performance earned him the Big East Midfielder of the Year award four times (2015-2018) and placement on the NCAA All-Tournament Team.

His professional career began in 2018 when he was drafted first overall by the Boston Cannons in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL). In 2019, Baptiste joined the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) with the New York Atlas, where he has been selected as an All-Star multiple times (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025). He has won the PLL Faceoff Athlete of the Year award five times (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) and the Jim Brown MVP Award in 2022. Baptiste also has an international career, being a member of the 2018 Team USA Gold Medal team at the World Lacrosse Championship and winning a bronze medal at the 2019 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship. He currently plays for the San Diego Seals in the NLL.
