Champion freestyle footballer Sean Garnier won the Red Bull Street Style competition in 2008 and is the founder of his own team, the Street Style Society.
Garnier was a professional footballer who played for both Auxerre and Troyes before injuries forced him to end his career on the pitch early. He decided to channel his passion for the sport into freestyle football instead, working with world champion Benjamin Aw and being crowned the World Champion himself at the first ever Red Bull Street Style contest in 2008. The tournament, held in Sao Paulo, launched Garnier’s career and he has since gone on to win the French Freestyle competition three times as well as the Styllball Beach Style held in Dubai in 2010. He has become well known for his highly original routines which combine elements of dance, football, breakdance, acrobatics and he has secured sponsorship from Red Bull. As well as freestyle, Garnier also plays football related games such as futsal and panna, competing in the Premier Futsal in India in 2016.
This talented performer and athlete is also the founder of his own team the Street Style Society, a collective of professional freestylers who compete and train together. With regular public appearances including in advertising campaigns and charity initiatives, Garnier remains the face of freestyle football and is an icon for aspiring performers around the world.
