Federico Macheda

Federico Macheda is an Italian professional footballer who has played as a striker for notable clubs such as Manchester United, Panathinaikos, and Asteras Tripolis. After scoring a crucial injury-time winner on his first-team debut for Manchester United against Aston Villa in April 2009, Federico Macheda went on to forge a distinguished career as a professional striker across top European leagues. Macheda initially joined Manchester United’s academy in 2007, quickly becoming the Under-18s’ top scorer in his inaugural season. He signed his first professional contract with the club in August 2008.

He then transitioned to the Turkish Süper Lig, signing with Ankaragücü in 2022, followed by a loan spell at APOEL in Cyprus in 2023. Demonstrating his ongoing commitment to playing at a high level, Macheda returned to Greece in 2024, joining Asteras Tripolis as a free agent.
