Sean Strickland

Sean Thomas Strickland, born on February 27, 1991, in Anaheim, California, embarked on his professional mixed martial arts career in 2008. Competing predominantly in the King of the Cage (KOTC) promotion during his early years, Strickland established an undefeated record of 9-0. His impressive performance led him to challenge for the KOTC Middleweight Championship, which he won by split decision against Josh Bryant in December 2012. Strickland successfully defended this title three times before signing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Strickland made his UFC debut in March 2014 at UFC 171, securing a rear-naked choke submission victory over Bubba McDaniel in the first round. His career in the UFC saw him transition between welterweight and middleweight divisions, demonstrating a resilient and adaptable fighting approach. A significant turning point in his career followed a serious motorcycle accident in December 2018, which resulted in a two-year layoff for recovery and knee surgery.
