Seth “Freakin'” Rollins

Colby Daniel Lopez, known professionally as Seth Rollins, was born on May 28, 1986, in Davenport, Iowa. He began his professional wrestling career at age 19 in August 2004, initially under the ring name Gixx in the Iowa independent circuit. He later adopted the name Tyler Black while competing in Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South (IWA) and NWA Midwest, where he won the NWA Midwest Tag Team Championship with Marek Brave in early 2006. His career on the independent scene also saw him compete for promotions like Full Impact Pro (FIP), where he held the FIP World Heavyweight Championship, and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), where he won the PWG World Tag Team Championship with Jimmy Jacobs in 2008. During his tenure with Ring of Honor (ROH), he was a member of The Age of the Fall, securing the ROH World Tag Team Championship twice with Jimmy Jacobs in 2007 and 2008. In 2009, he won the Survival of the Fittest tournament, leading to his first ROH World Championship reign in 2010, which lasted 210 days.

Lopez signed with WWE in 2010, where he adopted the name Seth Rollins and was assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). He became the inaugural FCW Jack Brisco 15 Champion in 2011 and later the FCW Florida Heavyweight Champion in 2012. Following FCW’s rebranding to NXT, he made history as the inaugural NXT Champion. In November 2012, Rollins debuted on the main roster as a member of The Shield alongside Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, quickly ascending to main event status. With The Shield, he won his first WWE Tag Team Championship in May 2013 and later transitioned into a prominent singles competitor. His career continued with significant milestones, including becoming the first wrestler to simultaneously hold both the WWE Championship and the United States Championship in 2015, and a two-time Money in the Bank ladder match winner. He has headlined multiple WrestleMania events and has been recognized as PWI’s Wrestler of the Year in 2015, 2019, and 2023. Rollins also holds the distinction of being WWE’s 29th Triple Crown Champion and 19th Grand Slam Champion, the second wrestler to achieve the latter twice.

Throughout his career, Rollins has continuously evolved his persona, from “The Architect” of The Shield to “The Monday Night Messiah” and currently “The Visionary,” characterized by his eccentric personality and distinct fashion sense. He has held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship twice, the WWE Universal Championship twice, and the World Heavyweight Championship twice, making him a six-time world champion in WWE. His sustained success and ability to reinvent himself have maintained his position at the forefront of the wrestling industry.
