Shanna Moakler

Shanna Lynn Moakler was born on March 28, 1975, in Providence, Rhode Island. She began her modeling career at age fifteen, appearing in publications such as Cosmopolitan and Brentwood. Moakler’s early career also included competitive roller skating for 12 years. Her entry into pageantry began in 1992, representing Rhode Island in the Miss Teen USA pageant, where she placed seventh overall. In 1993, she won the Miss Teen All American title. Her significant breakthrough in pageantry occurred in 1995 when she was crowned Miss New York USA. That same year, she became the first runner-up in the Miss USA pageant. Following the Miss USA winner, Chelsi Smith, being crowned Miss Universe, Moakler ascended to the title of Miss USA 1995. This achievement marked a turning point in her public career.

Moakler expanded her career into acting, gaining recognition for her role as Officer Monica Harper on the USA Network series “Pacific Blue” from 1998 for two seasons. She also appeared in films such as “The Wedding Singer” (1998), “Big Momma’s House 2” (2006), and “Back Stabber” (2016). Her television appearances include episodes of “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” “Due South,” “Timecop,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Entourage,” “Joey,” and “Jake in Progress.” She featured as a celebrity contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2006 and “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2022. In 2005, she starred alongside her then-husband Travis Barker in the MTV reality series “Meet the Barkers.” Beyond her entertainment career, Moakler held the role of Executive Producer for the Miss Nevada USA state pageant starting in 2012, and later acquired the Miss Utah USA franchise in 2018. Additionally, she became Playmate of the Month for Playboy magazine in December 2001. She also hosted E!’s “Bridalplasty” in 2010-2011 and joined the cast of VH1’s “Hollywood Exes” in 2014.
