Palmer has authored a significant number of articles, exceeding 1000, which have appeared in various publications such as Better Homes and Gardens, Oprah Magazine, and the LA Times. Her work also includes serving as the nutrition editor for Today’s Dietitian, holding an adjunct faculty position in the MS of Sustainable Food Systems Program at Prescott College, and acting as a nutrition consultant for organizations like AICR and Oldways. She is also a co-founder of Food and Planet, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering healthcare professionals to promote sustainable diets.
Throughout her career, Palmer has published several books on plant-based eating. Her first book, “The Plant-Powered Diet: The Lifelong Eating Plan for Achieving Optimal Health, Beginning Today,” was released in July 2012 and achieved critical success. This was followed by “Plant-Powered for Life: Eat Your Way to Lasting Health with 52 Simple Steps & 125 Delicious Recipes” in July 2014. More recently, she published “California Vegan: Inspiration and Recipes from the People and Places of the Golden State” on March 15, 2021, and her fourth book, “The Plant-Powered Plan to Beat Diabetes,” was published in May 2023. She has also contributed chapters to other books on nutrition and sustainability.
Palmer frequently presents at conferences and is a regular contributor to media discussions on nutrition across various platforms, including print, online, radio, podcasts, television, social media, videos, and film. She organizes farm and sustainability tours globally, notably collaborating on an Italian Alps Sustainability Food Tour. Palmer completed her Master of Science in Sustainable Food Systems from Green Mountain College in Vermont.
