Keith Levy, professionally known as Sherry Vine, was born in Florida and grew up in Columbia, Maryland. She later attended the University of Maryland before transferring to USC. In 1990, Levy relocated to New York City, marking the beginning of her professional career. Her journey into drag began in Los Angeles in 1991, performing in a one-act play titled _Sorry, Wrong Number_. By 1992, she officially adopted the drag persona Sherry Vine, establishing herself as a prominent figure in the New York City drag circuit.
Throughout the 1990s, Vine was a frequent performer in Theater Couture shows in the East Village, co-founding Theatre Couture in 1992 with Joe Gross and Douglass Sanders. She also regularly performed at Bar d’O in the West Village, sharing the stage with artists such as Joey Arias, Raven O, and Sade Pendarvis. Her career expanded into digital platforms in 2010 when she was featured in gay.com’s web series _Queens of Drag: NYC_. Vine gained significant recognition for her parodies of popular songs by artists like Madonna, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Adele, and Lady Gaga, including viral videos for “Poker Face” and “Paparazzi.” Her “Bad Romance” parody, released in 2009, accumulated over 6 million views, cementing her status as one of the first drag queens to achieve viral success on YouTube. Demonstrating her commitment to digital content, Vine launched gaySVTVworld, a queer TV network, in collaboration with former Here-TV executive Josh Rosenzweig, featuring eight programs on her official YouTube page.
Vine has also had a notable career in film and television, with appearances in films like _Stonewall_ (1995) and _The Raspberry Reich_ (2004). On television, she a TV special, _RuPaul’s Christmas Ball_, in 1993, and has been the creator and host of _She’s Living for This_ on Here TV since 2012. More recently, she appeared in an episode of _Station 19_ in 2020 and hosted _The Sherry Vine Show_ in 2021. In theater, she performed in _Doll_ in 2000 and _Carrie_ in 2006, both at Performance Space 122. Her enduring career, spanning over three decades, showcases her adaptability across various entertainment mediums, from live stage performances to digital content creation.
