A multi-talented Iranian-Canadian actress, model and producer, Shiva Negar firmly asserted herself on the scene as one to watch after her memorable turn in American Assasin (2017). In this action thriller she starred alongside Dylan O’Brien (lead in the Maze Runner trilogy) and Michael Keaton, among various other accomplished actors. She’s been cast in a variety of popular Canadian and American television shows such as My Babysitter’s a Vampire, Netflix’s Hemlock Grove, CBC’s Four in the Morning as well as Heartland, Hudson & Rex and Blood & Treasure in 2019. Negar was listed as one of Variety magazines ’10 Canadians to Watch’ in 2017.
Starting out as a competent child performer, Negar performed extensively in singing competitions, before pivoting to amateur dramatics. She soon fixed her vision on acting, adeptly balancing the attainment of her degree from York University with ample auditions and acting features. Negar is an inspiring symbol for young, talented women from diverse backgrounds to pursue their acting dreams. Having recently starred in the feature film The Cuban shot by award-winning director Sergio Navarretta and airing in selected US theaters over the summer of 2020, Negar is poised to take on further empowering heroic female roles in the near future. She can’t wait to play a part in telling such stories, particularly those which are based on true accounts in the Middle East, something she’s openly passionate about.
