Sidhant Gupta was born on April 23, 1989. Hailing from Jammu, he showcased diverse athletic talents in his youth, representing Jammu & Kashmir in national-level under-14 cricket, under-17 swimming, and under-19 basketball. His initial career path led him to Delhi to pursue a commercial pilot’s license. Before fully transitioning into acting, Gupta became a successful model, featuring in numerous commercials for brands such as Hero Honda, Clear Shampoo, Maruti Suzuki Nano, and Close Up. His modeling portfolio also included appearances at prominent events like Wills India Fashion Week and Delhi Fashion Week, and editorial shoots for India Today and Times of India.
Gupta made his acting debut in 2012 with the film ‘Tutiya Dil’, followed by ‘Bang Bang Bangkok’ in 2013. His career gained further traction with the romantic comedy ‘Badmashiyaan’ in 2015, where he played Dev Arora. The same year, he ventured into television with a leading role as Kunj Sarna in Zee TV’s popular soap opera ‘Tashan-e-Ishq’, which ran until 2016. In 2017, he appeared in the film ‘Bhoomi’ alongside Aditi Rao Hydari and Sanjay Dutt. He continued to expand his filmography with ‘Operation Romeo’ in 2022, taking on a lead role in the romantic thriller. A significant turning point in Gupta’s career came with his leading roles in streaming series. In 2023, he garnered critical acclaim for his portrayal of Jay Khanna in the Amazon Prime Video series ‘Jubilee’. This success was followed by another notable performance as Jawaharlal Nehru in the SonyLIV series ‘Freedom at Midnight’ (2024-2026), which earned him praise for his nuanced depiction of the historical figure. He is also set to appear as Charles Sobhraj in ‘Black Warrant’ (2025) and has future projects such as ‘Dragon’ (2027) and ‘Teen Kauwe’ in post-production, further solidifying his presence in both film and digital platforms.
