About

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Simone Missick developed an interest in performance early in life, playing the violin and singing before focusing on acting. During her first year as an English major at Howard University, a theatre class solidified her dedication to acting, leading her to graduate with a minor in Theatre Arts. Following her graduation, Missick further honed her craft by participating in the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England. There, she attended Master Classes with renowned figures such as Ben Kingsley, Alan Rickman, and Jane Lapotaire. She then performed in regional theatre in Detroit before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue her career in film and television.

Missick achieved a significant milestone in 2015 with her debut as “Misty Knight” in “Marvel’s Luke Cage.” She later reprised this role in “Marvel’s: The Defenders” (2017) and the second seasons of both “Marvel’s Luke Cage” (2018) and “Marvel’s Iron Fist” (2018). In 2018, Missick also ventured into theatre, making her New York debut in Dominique Morrisseau’s play “Paradise Blue” at the Signature Theatre. That same year, she starred in and served as a producer for the Orion Pictures film “Jinn.” Her career progression continued with a leading role in the CBS drama series “All Rise” (2019–2023) as Judge Lola Carmichael, a position she also held as an executive producer for one episode in 2022. In 2020, Missick joined the main cast of the Netflix science-fiction series “Altered Carbon” for its second season as Trepp. She is slated to appear as Astoria Chambers in the upcoming TV series “Government Cheese” in 2025.
