Sixten Totzek

Sixten Totzek was born on January 5, 2000, in Baden-Baden, Germany. His involvement in curling began early, participating in four World Junior-B Curling Championships between 2016 and 2019. During these junior years, he played as both third and fourth for Team Germany, achieving a bronze medal at the 2018 World Junior B Curling Championships. This performance secured a spot in the 2018 World Junior Curling Championships. He later reached his best junior finish in 2020, placing fourth at the World Junior Curling Championships after qualifying for the playoffs for the first time.

Totzek’s senior career began with appearances at the European Curling Championships, with his first in 2018 as third for the German team. The team reached the semifinals and finished fourth, contributing to Germany’s qualification for the 2019 World Men’s Curling Championship. He transitioned to skipping the German team for the 2020–21 season, leading them to a semifinal finish at the Baden Masters and representing Germany at the 2021 World Men’s Curling Championship. In the 2021–22 season, his team won the Aberdeen International Curling Championship and achieved a seventh-place finish at the 2022 World Men’s Curling Championship. He competed in the Olympic Qualification Event in 2021, but the team did not qualify for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

More recently, in the 2023–24 season, Totzek won the German Mixed Doubles Trials with partner Lena Kapp, subsequently qualifying for and competing in the 2024 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. He has consistently represented Germany in the World and European Curling Championships, demonstrating a sustained commitment to his sport at the national and international levels. He is also a certified curling coach, working with young athletes and promoting the sport globally.
