SM6 got their start in music approximately fourteen years ago, after their parents purchased a piano. The oldest sibling, George, began playing ‘Fur Elise’ by ear, which led to the four older siblings receiving music lessons. Over time, all six siblings learned to play various instruments. Emily specialized in drums, Adam on guitar, and Isabel took up bass to complete the band’s lineup. This organic formation laid the groundwork for their musical journey, transitioning from a hobby to a professional career path.

The band has achieved significant milestones in their career, including embarking on three national tours and conducting their first overseas performance in London. They have also performed at Summerfest and relocated to Los Angeles to further their musical endeavors. SM6 has expanded their reach beyond music by starring in a full-feature film and being featured creators at Vidcon. These achievements underscore their commitment to their artistic vision, which emphasizes creating music that resonates with their personal values rather than conforming to perceived market trends or external opinions. Their journey has been marked by a dedicated focus on authentic musical expression.

A turning point for SM6 was harnessing the power of social media for global reach. Despite initial reluctance, the band adopted social media after attending an ASCAP music expo in LA that highlighted its benefits. Consistent posting on platforms like TikTok led to unexpected blessings, including going viral and cultivating a loyal fanbase. This strategy enabled them to connect with audiences worldwide and secure opportunities that might otherwise have been unavailable, shaping their career trajectory and expanding their community.
