Sonia Constant is a master perfumer with an extensive career in the fragrance industry. She received her training at ISIPCA, a renowned perfume school in Paris, and the Givaudan School of Perfumery. Following her education, she dedicated over 24 years to Givaudan, a leading perfume house. Throughout her tenure, Sonia developed a reputation for creating successful fragrances for a wide array of international brands. Her work includes notable compositions for Tom Ford, Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier, Narciso Rodriguez, and Jimmy Choo.
Sonia’s creative process is deeply influenced by her travels and personal experiences. She maintains a practice of carrying a camera and a notebook to document images and thoughts that subsequently inspire her olfactory creations. She approaches fragrance creation as both a visual and sensory art, drawing inspiration from various elements such as colors, atmospheres, landscapes, and emotions. In 2017, Sonia Constant expanded her professional endeavors by co-founding her own perfume collection, Ella K Parfums. This venture allowed her to express a more personal and philosophical perspective through her fragrance designs. Her favorite fragrance notes include ambroxan, cashmeran, orange flower, and orris. Her work has consistently earned industry recognition.
Her portfolio includes over 200 perfumes, demonstrating her prolific output and diverse collaborations. In 2024, she received the Golden Osmanthus Award for ‘Top Overseas Fragrance’ for Ella K’s Poème de Sagano and The Fragrance Foundation UK’s ‘Extra Ordinary Perfume’ award for Ella K’s Camélia K. These recent accolades add to a history of awards, including ‘Best Fragrance’ at The Fragrance Foundation in 2023 for Tom Ford Noir Extreme Parfum, in 2022 for Tom Ford Ombré Leather, and in 2021 for Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc Absolu. She also earned ‘Best Women’s Fragrance’ at the Deutscher Parfumpreis Duftstars and Accademia del Profumo in 2022 for Narciso Rodriguez For Her Musc Noir.
