Stanislav Rumenov Yanevski was born on May 16, 1985, in Sofia, Bulgaria. Prior to pursuing acting, he lived in both England and Israel. While attending Mill Hill School in the United Kingdom, where fellow Harry Potter actor Harry Melling was also a student, Yanevski did not initially have aspirations in acting nor was he a drama student. His entry into the film industry occurred after he was noticed by casting director Fiona Weir, who invited him to an acting workshop. This led to his casting as Viktor Krum in the 2005 film, “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” where he was selected from approximately 650 other individuals who had auditioned, many of them in Sofia.
Following his debut in the “Harry Potter” series, Yanevski continued his acting career. In 2007, he took on the role of Miroslav in “Hostel: Part II,” a sequel to Eli Roth’s film “Hostel.” He later reprised his role as Viktor Krum in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” in 2010, though his appearance was uncredited and primarily featured in deleted scenes, specifically a wedding scene dancing with Hermione. His career also extended to television, where he played Angel “Geleto” Yakimov in 11 episodes of the TV series “Undercover” in 2011. He further appeared as Shepherd in three episodes of “Stolichani v poveche” between 2013 and 2015.
Throughout his career, Yanevski has demonstrated versatility across film and television. In 2011, he acted as Bernhardt in the film “Resistance.” More recently, he appeared in “The 11th Grade” in 2015, where he played himself. In 2019, he took on the role of Boris The Hammer in “The Cloaking,” also serving as its executive producer. His most recent film credit listed is as Dr. Feltspat in “Last Man Down” in 2021. Yanevski has also engaged in production roles, serving as a co-producer and executive producer for the short film “Frame of Regret” in 2017.
