Star Jones

Star Jones is an acclaimed lawyer, journalist, television personality, talk show host, author, and advocate, known for her diverse career spanning law, media, and business. After earning her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1986 and being admitted to the New York state bar in 1987, Star Jones launched her professional career as a prosecutor with the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York, serving from 1986 to 1991. Her exceptional performance led to her elevation to senior assistant district attorney in 1992.

Demonstrating her commitment to philanthropy, she won $25,000 for charity on ‘Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?’ in 2009 and appeared as a contestant on ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ season 4 in 2011. An accomplished author, Jones published her best-selling debut, “You Have to Stand for Something, or You’ll Fall for Anything” in 1998. She followed this success with “Shine: A Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Journey to Finding Love” in 2006, and the widely acclaimed novel “Satan’s Sisters” in 2011. The latter inspired the successful television series ‘Daytime Divas,’ for which Jones served as an executive producer and made a guest star appearance in 2017, showcasing her versatility behind and in front of the camera.

In recent years, Jones has continued to take on influential judicial and leadership roles. She joined ‘Divorce Court’ as a judge for its 40th season in 2022, a role she maintains today. Further solidifying her leadership in business and advocacy, she has served as President of the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) and President of Professional Diversity Network (NASDAQ: IPDN). In 2022, she was appointed and confirmed as Chair of the U.S.

Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, underscoring her commitment to public service and heritage preservation.
