Best known for being the assistant manager for the England football team, Steve Holland has had a long and illustrious career in the game.
As a young player, Holland was a part of the Derby County academy programme, playing with the team throughout his teen years. He then went on to play for Northwich Victoria, Bury and Husqvarna FF before choosing to pursue coaching. He landed a job as a youth coach with Crewe Alexandra before becoming one of the youngest people to ever complete the FA Full Coaching Licence aged just 22. He went on to work with Crewe for the next 17 years, working his way up to become Academy Director and First Team Coach. In 2009, Holland moved to become the youth academy manager at Stoke City and just two years later was snapped up as the Assistant First Team Coach at Chelsea, also acting as assistant manager during his time with the club. By now he had built up a great reputation as a strong coach and strategic manager, and in 2013 Holland was appointed as assistant manager to the England Under 21s team. Three years later he became the assistant manager for the senior team too, famously helping lead the team to the final of the 2020 UEFA European Championships.
Holland is now one of the most well known and respected coaches in football, and continues to work alongside the England national team as they train and compete.
