Steven Bruce Schneider, known professionally as Steve Stevens, was born on May 5, 1959, in New York City. Stevens rose to prominence as the guitarist and songwriting collaborator for Billy Idol, a partnership that has spanned over three decades. His distinctive guitar style became a hallmark of Idol’s sound, contributing significantly to numerous successful albums and tours. Beyond his work with Billy Idol, Stevens’ versatility as a musician led him to collaborate with a diverse range of artists across various genres. A notable early career achievement was his lead guitar work on the “Top Gun Anthem” for the 1986 film *Top Gun*, which earned him a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 1987.
